On the corner of a busy intersection in Los Angeles, lies an empty lot. At first glance, a passerby will notice the usual graffiti and what seems like scattered junk. What you will actually find is a skate refuge. A do it yourself skatepark, with hand built ledges, bumps, and rails.

What once was a desolate piece of land, has now been reconstructed into a home for skateboarders. There are many roadblocks for skaters, but their resilience is what allows them to keep pushing. From a packed skatepark to an overzealous security guard, skateboarders will overcome whatever is thrown in front of them. Can’t find a spot to skate? No problem. Just say “fuck it” and make a spot.
